Wow, What a Year That Was

2020 was quite the year for me. Between my daughter being born, losing family members unexpectedly, and isolating from the world due to a pandemic, I didn't know which way was up half the time. Didn't play many board games, or make many videos, or really do much streaming, and suddenly most of a year had passed.
So where are we at now? Well, a couple months ago, I became a content creator for a board game store near me, and I'm making bi-weekly board game videos for them. I'm getting paid in store credit, so it's a decent gig while I'm not working at a normal job. I also started an online course to learn video game programming in C++ and eventually Unreal Engine, and that's very exciting. I also got heavily into programming in Tabletop Simulator, though not much recently.
Other than that, it's been quite the time watching my daughter grow every day, spending whatever time with my wife that I can when our waking hours overlap, and when everyone else is sleeping, I try to do something productive. I'm happy to say that my Twitch stats are improving. To get affiliate status, you need 50 followers (I have 54), stream for 8 hours on 7 different days in the previous 30, and have an average of 3.0 viewers. That last one is the toughest. One stream with no viewers and that average is destroyed. But right now, I'm up to 2.3, a ridiculously all-time high. I'm not saying I'll end up as an affiliate, but it pleases me to know how close I am to the required metrics. I think in the next 22 days, I'd only need to stream for another 3 hours on 4 days, and hope that the average viewers keeps up. It isn't like I'm going to be a professional streamer, it's just a thing I like doing now and then.
Anyway, that's all I wanted to cover. I realized that there's a possibility that people might end up on this page and wonder if I've abandoned this site. Not so, but I do forget to update it now and then. I'm sure the game list is way out of date.
But until next time, thanks for reading :D
